Tigers Winter Caravan to make stop at Detroit nonprofit

DETROIT (AP) - The Neighborhood Service Organization will unveil a commemorative logo and preview plans for its 60th anniversary celebration during a stop by the Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan.

The celebration kicks off Friday morning with a rally at the NSO Bell Building headquarters in Detroit.

Tigers President Dave Dombrowski, slugger Victor Martinez, pitcher David Price and others are scheduled to take part in an interactive question and answer session. The team also will present a jersey to the NSO to recognize its anniversary.

Nearly 200 Neighborhood Service Organization staff, volunteers and individuals served by the nonprofit human services group will attend the private event.

The Bell Building houses apartments for homeless adults and serves as the NSO's headquarters.
