Alleged rape victim says she doesn't remember encounter

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The alleged victim of a rape at Vanderbilt University has testified that she has no recollection of being sexually assaulted.

The woman was a 21-year-old student majoring in neuroscience and economics in June 2013 and had recently begun seeing football player Brandon Vandenburg.

She testified that the last thing she remembered was Vandenburg plying her with alcohol at a popular Nashville night spot. She told jurors that she woke up alone the next morning in a strange dorm room feeling confused, not like herself and very sick.

Prosecutors say her date, Brandon Vandenburg, encouraged three other football players to rape her while she lay unconscious on his dorm room floor.

Vandenburg and Cory Batey are being tried for rape. Two other players have been charged. All have pleaded not guilty.
