Caring for Caregivers

Caring for Caregivers is the first 2015 Wellness Ministry program sponsored in coordination between Advocate Condell Medical Center and Ivanhoe Congregational Church. It will be held on Monday, January 26, at 7 pm at Ivanhoe Congregational Church, 21078 W. Route 176, in Mundelein. The program is free and prior registration is not required.

Caring for a loved one with a chronic health condition is challenging in many ways. Peg Schuetz, LCPC, Director of Adult Day Services at Advocate Condell Medical Center, will address how caregivers can manage stress and the importance of taking a break. She will also talk about how to tell if a caregiver needs help and how to recognize signs that a higher level of care might be needed.

A Wellness Ministry is a congregationally based ministry of Advocate Condell Medical Center. This ministry addresses the education about healthy living, prevention and management of illnesses, relationship between faith and health of individuals, and training parishioners on health ministry leadership. Traci Smith is the coordinator of the Ivanhoe Congregational Church program.
