Streamwood man pleads guilty to 2014 battery

The second of two men charged in the July 2014 beating of a Hanover Park teen pleaded guilty Wednesday, court records show.

Justin Risher, 20, of Streamwood, was sentenced to 88 days in Cook County jail in exchange for pleading guilty to a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to court records.

Risher was also ordered to pay $694 in fines.

Risher's co-defendant, Humberto Fernandez, 20, of Streamwood, pleaded guilty to the same charge in December and was sentenced to three years in prison.

The 18-year-old victim was walking south on West Avenue in Hanover Park on July 31, 2014, when a green Cadillac carrying four men approached and they began talking to him, police said.

While they were talking, Fernandez, who was carrying a baseball bat, and Risher, who was carrying a metal pipe, got out of the car and began swinging at the teen, who escaped and was located by police a short time later.
