Elgin chamber to celebrate 2014 successes with annual meeting

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating another successful year of service to the business community at its annual meeting luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin.

Designed to be the culminating event of the chamber's business year, the annual meeting serves to “tie a bow” on the past 12 months and set the tone for the upcoming year. Board chair Terry Royer, CEO and president of Winergy Drive Systems and vice president of Siemens Mechanical Drive, will summarize the past year of the organization in relation to membership services and economic development.

This year's event, held in the Fox River Room, begins with a networking reception at 11:30 a.m. followed by a buffet luncheon at noon and a brief program, which concludes by 1:15 p.m. The annual meeting offers the business community outstanding networking opportunities with many area business and community leaders attending.

Rick Jakle, owner of Fox Valley Broadcasting and past president of National Speakers Association and Professional Speakers of Illinois, will serve as emcee for the event. Other activities will include recognition of retiring, continuing and new chamber board members and a brief video presentation painting a picture of Elgin's economic development successes.

Cost is $40. Reservations are available online at www.elginchamber.com. For more information, contact the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce at (847) 741-5660 or visit www.elginchamber.com.
