Man pleads gulity to obscenity:

A Hawthorn Woods man accused of trying meet with a 14-year-old boy for sex pleaded guilty Tuesday to a misdemeanor count of obscenity in Lake County court, defense attorney Kevin Malia said. Ryan Horn, 25, of the 0-100 block of Park View Lane, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and 200 public service hours in exchange for his guilty plea in front of Judge James Booras. Horn is not required to register as a sex offender, but is required to enroll in any sex offender counseling or evaluations the court and Lake County probation department deems necessary, Malia said. Horn was arrested after posting an online ad seeking a companion May 2, authorities said. The ad was answered by a Lake County Sheriff's detective, but Horn thought he was communicating with a 14-year-old boy, authorities said. Horn was arrested when he arranged to meet the detective May 5, authorities said.
