Local author to discuss Orson Welles at Barrington library

Local author Todd Tarbox will be speaking at the Barrington Area Library Wednesday night about his book detailing the relationship between legendary filmmaker Orson Welles and Tarbox's maternal grandfather, Roger Hill.

Hill was the headmaster of the Todd School for Boys, a private boarding school in Woodstock, at the same time that Welles attended school there. Tarbox's book, "Orson Welles and Roger Hill: A Friendship in Three Acts," recounts the two men's 60-year relationship.

Tarbox, who lives in Barrington Hills, will begin speaking at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Meeting Room A of the library, 505 N. Northwest Highway in Barrington.

In addition to speaking Wednesday night, Tarbox will be a part of the annual Welles Woodstock event in May, which this year marks the 100th anniversary of Welles' birth. More information about that event can be found at welleswoodstock.com.
