Man charged in death of former pro basketball player
CHICAGO (AP) - A 51-year-old suburban Chicago man is being held without bond after being charged with murder in the death of a former professional basketball player.
DuPage County prosecutors say Hinsdale businessman Jeffrey Keller believed 37-year-old Nate Fox was having an affair with a woman in whom Keller had a romantic interest. The woman once worked with Fox, but denied having any relationship with him.
State's Attorney Robert Berlin said Friday that Keller stalked Fox to learn his movements before waiting outside the victim's Bloomingdale home on Dec. 22, where he shot him as he got out his auto.
Keller allegedly confessed the shooting to a friend, and later turned himself in to police.
Fox was a basketball player at Boston College and the University of Maine. He played professional basketball in Europe for 12 years.
