Holiday book drive a rousing success

Holiday book drive a rousing success

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley was this year's recipient of Barnes & Noble Geneva Commons holiday book drive. Nearly 6,300 books were purchased and donated by their generous, caring customers. What an amazing community we live in.

Every book has found a happy home in the hands of others less fortunate. Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley was able to distribute books to many community organizations including: Batavia Access Toy Drive, Batavia Apartments, Batavia Public School District, Early Learning Center of Aurora, Geneva Community Unit School District, Illinois Youth Center, Lazarus House, Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley, Mutual Ground, St. Charles Community Unit School District, St. Charles Public Library "Read to Your Baby" Program, St. Charles Public Library Summer Reading Program and The Salvation Army Tri-City Corps.

We've had the pleasure of hearing heartwarming stories of the joy and gratitude these books have brought to people young and old.

Thank you to the staff of Barnes & Noble Geneva Commons for the work you put into making this drive possible - surely it was a labor of love. More thanks than can be expressed in words to our community members who so generously opened their wallets and hearts during this holiday season.
