Food service, water restored at ISU after water main break

NORMAL, Ill. (AP) - Illinois State University says food services and drinking water should be restored Thursday after a water main break valve broke earlier in the week.

ISU spokesman Eric Jome says a boil order was lifted Wednesday evening. Affected buildings included the Bone Student Center and Milner Library.

Streets were flooded Tuesday in Normal after the break. ISU's campus dining services had to temporarily close restaurants. The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports (http://bit.ly/1Ajuo7v ) food was prepared off-site and brought in for students.

Normal water director Steve Gerdes says repairs were complete Tuesday evening. He says the break happened while crews were repairing a fire hydrant.
