Body recovered from ruins of NE Wisconsin house fire

TOWN OF GREEN VALLEY, Wis. (AP) - Crews have recovered a body from the ruins of a house fire in northeastern Wisconsin.

The Shawano County sheriff's office says the fire was reported just after 6 a.m. Thursday in the Town of Green Valley.

Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames. The owner and only person living in the home was unaccounted for and believed to be still in the house.

Crews put out the fire. Late Thursday afternoon, a body was recovered from the remains of the house.

Authorities are withholding the victim's name until relatives are notified. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
