Register now for Chick Chat Workshop for girls on March 7

Chick Chat by Helping Girls Navigate Adolescence Inc. is a spectacular daylong workshop where fourth- to sixth-grade girls can explore their interests and issues, build interpersonal skills, improve their social relationships, make healthy decisions, delve into developing their own unique sense of self, enhance images of themselves as capable and competent individuals, and have fun - all within a safe and nurturing environment.

Throughout the day, girls hear motivational presentations, enjoy a healthy lunch, and break into small groups with trained facilitators to discuss topics such as cultivating inner beauty, understanding feelings, and developing healthy family and peer relationships.

Yoga and action-packed team-building challenges are also part of this fun-filled day offered through a collaboration of local school districts, the Geneva Coalition for Youth, and TriCity Family Services. The school districts are Geneva Unit District 304, St. Charles Unit District 303, Batavia Unit District 101, Kaneland Unit District 302 and Central Unit District 301. The Chick Chat by HGNA curriculum is aligned with the Illinois Social Emotional Learning Standards.

It will be held Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Geneva Middle School South. Cost is $35 per girl. Fee reductions and scholarships are available for those who qualify.
