First Baptist offers new ministry space for children with special needs

First Baptist Church of Geneva has recently completed a ministry expansion project that includes state-of-the-art space for children with special needs, children's programming and middle school programming.

This is one part of a greater expansion project called Growing to Serve.

The community is welcome to come see the spaces during the open house starting at noon Sunday, Jan. 18. The church's west campus is at 3235 Keslinger Road in Geneva.

Buddy Break and Masterpiece Ministries are two of the groups that will be better equipped to serve students with special needs and their families.

Buddy Break is a free respite program where parents/caregivers get a break from caregiving while youth/children with special needs and their siblings play fun games, enjoy crafts, stories, music and activities. The next Buddy Break event will be held at the church's west campus on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Masterpiece Ministries creates an environment that helps children with special needs become all God has created them to be. This Ministry is intended to help children with special needs and their families experience love and acceptance during worship, instruction, and fellowship at the church. Volunteers are experienced and able to provide this ministry for children and youth with a wide range of needs and limitations. Masterpiece Ministries has programs for all ages on Sunday mornings at the 9:15 service at the church's west campus. Assistance can also be provided at the 10:45 a.m. service.
