Buffalo Grove Road plans

There's good news for motorists long frustrated by the bottleneck on Buffalo Grove Road in southern Lake County: Lake County officials are taking steps to widen the busy street. On Tuesday, the county board is expected to approve hiring an engineer to design the reconstruction and widening of the road between Route 22 and Deerfield Parkway. The contract will cost the county about $1.2 million. Funding will come from a sales-tax fund, according to county documents. The board meeting is set for 9 a.m. at the county government center, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.
