Rolling Meadows police arrest five for DUI

During the holiday season, reducing the deadly dangers from drunk drivers was a top priority. From Dec. 19 to Jan. 4, the Rolling Meadows Police Department made five DUI arrests (2 on grant-funded overtime patrols). In addition, 42 seat belt citations were issued (29 on grant-funded overtime patrols).

"Drunk driving is deadly and people can get too wrapped up in the excitement of the holidays and make some seriously bad decisions," said Deputy Chief Mark Hogan.

The crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
