Gasol scores 46 to power Bulls

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau likes to talk about how hard a team has to work when playing short-handed.

Derrick Rose missed Saturday's 95-87 victory over Milwaukee on Saturday at the United Center due to soreness in his left knee.

The Bulls made up for Rose's absence by posting a couple of career-highs. Pau Gasol scored 46 points and Jimmy Butler dished out 10 assists to help end the Bulls' two-game losing streak.

Gasol added 18 rebounds, hitting 17 of 30 shots from the field. Kirk Hinrich was the only other Bulls player to reach double-figure scoring with 16 points.

Gasol's previous career-high was 44 points against Seattle in 2006, when he played for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Check back later for much more on this game from Mike McGraw.
