Healthy Lombard looking for Health Heroes

Healthy Lombard is accepting nominations for its annual Health Heroes recognition, which honors individuals who have made a noticeable effort to improve their personal health and wellness during the past year or companies that have made positive, healthy changes in their work environments.

The individuals and companies chosen for the Health Heroes recognition will receive their awards at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 28 during the 2015 Healthy Lombard Fitness February Fair at Yorktown Center. Supernova, the mascot for the Chicago Red Stars soccer team, will be part of the ceremony.

All members of the greater Lombard area are invited to attend the Fitness February Fair, running 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event features health-related displays, free health screenings and interactive presentations. This health and fitness event is sponsored by Partners of Healthy Lombard, a 501(c) 3 foundation established in 2009 to address childhood obesity and promote healthy living for everyone.

To nominate a Health Hero, compose a one-paragraph explanation describing what the person has done to get healthy or what the company has done to make the workplace healthier for employees this year. Include the name, address, phone number and email address for both the nominator and nominee.

Email the nomination and contact information by Jan. 31 to Jay Wojcik, Healthy Lombard founder, at jay@healthylombard.com.

Questions or requests for additional information can be directed to the same email address.
