Last season: Denmark's Morten Orum Madsen won at Glendower in November 2013, beating South Africa's Hennie Otto and Jbe Kruger by two strokes.

Last event: South Africa's Branden Grace won the Alfred Dunhill Championship on Dec. 14 at Leopard Creek. He finished at 20-under 268 for a seven-stroke victory.

Notes: Five-time champion Ernie Els tops the South African contigent along with Grace, Charl Schwartzel, two-winner Retief Goosen and past champions James Kingston and Richard Sterne. ... First played in 1893, the tournament is the second oldest national championship behind the British Open. ... Gary Player won a record 13 times, the first in 1956 and last in 1981. ...
