Believe Project: $100 to give to the wife, kids of co-worker who died

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Rosie Pineda of Port Barrington.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

“I worked with a gentleman who was very friendly and outgoing and was very well liked by everyone. He was just so caring and compassionate and was always willing to help and always had a smile on his face, even if he was having a bad day. He had a loving family and was so excited to be a father soon to twin boys. Then tragedy struck. He was at work complaining of a headache. When it got worse, they called an ambulance. He passed away after three days at the hospital from a brain aneurysm. He never ended up seeing his twin boys come into this world only a few weeks later. The wife had to plan a funeral and take care of their daughter while being pregnant in the last trimester. She has to juggle all this on her own while caring for the kids. I would give the money to her.”

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
