Antique show offers cozy respite from the cold

The DuPage Expo Center in St. Charles was a cozy place to spend time out of the snow and wind Sunday as the Chicagoland Antique & Collectible Markets covered the carpeted arena.

Collections of vintage fine jewelry, clothing, toys, signs and photographs, furniture and other collectibles were on display and on sale.

"It's like I've got a little museum," said seller Don Cook of Batavia. "A lot of people will look and look and never buy, but it's been good."

Visitor Bill McGrath said he wasn't looking for anything specific.

"You just look for something to jump out at you," the Batavia resident said. "It's amazing to see the things that we have produced in this country over the years."
