Round Lake Beach teen intoxicated in Thursday's fatal crash
A Round Lake Beach teen killed in a single-vehicle crash in Fox Lake Thursday afternoon was severely intoxicated, coroner's officials said Saturday.
Lake County Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo said 18-year-old Jesus Lopez had a blood-alcohol level of .24, three times the legal limit of .08, when he crashed into a sign in the parking lot of Fox Lake Family Restaurant, 56 Route 12, near the corner of Route 12 and North Pistakee Lake Road.
Lopez, the car's only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
