Believe Project: $100 to buy gift cards for homeless people

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is John Spoden of Prospect Heights.

Here is an excerpt of his pitch:

“If I were lucky enough to win the $100, I would add $100 of my money and buy 20 $10 McDonald's gift cards. I would have a local church distribute the cards anonymously to PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) clients. In our area PADS is seven local churches providing shelter to the homeless one night a week during the winter months.”

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
