Snowshoe, cross-country ski at Bartlett Nature Center

Come and have an great time with nature and exercise at the Bartlett Nature Center. The nature center has snowshoes and cross-country skies.

Tired of sitting at home wondering what to do? Go outside and enjoy these economical winter sports for all ages, which provides hours of fun and exercise. All rentals have to be back half an hour before closing.

Equipment is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Quantities and sizes of equipment are limited. Trails are self-groomed and there is no trail fee. Equipment is available Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Groups of 10 or more need to make reservations in advance for equipment.

A good snow covering and safe conditions are required for skiing. A security item is required to rent skis; Bartlett Park District membership pass, driver's license, student ID or car keys. Snowshoes are free to rent, but a small donation is suggested. Skis, boots, poles are $5 per person and rent for 2-hour rental. Sizes are limited to mainly youth sizes.

The Bartlett Nature Center is located at 2054 W. Stearns Road in Bartlett within the James "Pate" Philip State Park Visitor Center. Call (847) 608-3100 press "2" when prompted.
