Aurora cheerleading coach arrested on sex abuse charge

A 51-year-old Oswego man and Aurora cheerleading coach accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old prostitute was apprehended yesterday afternoon in Oswego. Aurora police said Ray Saleh was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force around 12:30 p.m. following a brief foot chase after he left a fast-food restaurant on the 200 block of Douglas Road. Pac-Man-themed eatery opening soon at Woodfield

An opening date hasn't yet been set for the Pac-Man-themed restaurant and entertainment center coming to Schaumburg's Woodfield Mall, but its developers now know when they can guarantee a reservation. "I'm absolutely confident we'll be taking reservations for Valentine's Day," said David Bishop, executive vice president of strategic project development for Wood Dale-based Namco Entertainment Inc. 3 Elgin men charged with sexually assaulting teen

Authorities have charged three Elgin men with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old in mid-December and recording it on a cellphone, according to Kane County court records. Daniel Hernandez, 20, of the 700 block of Dean Street, was being held at the Kane County jail on $1 million bail on felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault causing bodily harm, kidnapping and unlawful restraint. Beach Park teen dies after being hit by vehicle

A Beach Park teenager died after he was hit Monday by a vehicle on Skokie Highway, North Chicago police said. A preliminary investigation shows a vehicle driven by Roberto Gomez, 17, first struck a cement center median on Skokie Highway. Gomez got out of his vehicle to assess the damage and was struck by a northbound vehicle, according to a news release. Full story.

Police: 4 charged with robbery during apparent drug deal

Four men - three from Huntley and one from Woodstock - each were charged with aggravated robbery this week, Woodstock police said yesterday. Police were called Monday for a report of an armed robbery on the 1100 block of N. Madison Street, and the two male victims, 17 and 19, gave descriptions of four offenders and their getaway vehicle, according to a news release. Full story.

Arlington Heights gas station hit by armed robber again

Arlington Heights police are investigating an armed robbery Friday night at a gas station on Rand Road, the second time the business has been held up at gunpoint in recent months. Police responded to Mobil, 815 W. Rand Road, about 8:40 p.m. Friday for a report of an armed robbery. Full story.

Frigid Bulls lose to Nets

Sometime during the second half at Indiana on Monday, the Bulls lost their edge. They might be calling lost and found in Indianapolis to find out where it went. The Bulls got off to a decent start in the first quarter last night, but after that, were thoroughly dominated by the Brooklyn Nets in a 96-82 loss at the United Center. Full story.
