Forest preserve series looks at bald eagles

With a wing span of more than six feet, bald eagles can be hard to miss.

Forest Preserve District of Kane County naturalists will teach participants about the bald eagles that live among us. Learn about the history of these iconic birds at the "Eagles in Our Midst" nature program.

This "Learn from the Experts" program will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center, 3795 Campton Hills Drive, St. Charles.

The registration fee is $10 per person and this program is for ages 16 and older. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.

"Learn from the Experts" programs are taught by experts in the field and offer in-depth information and learning opportunities about our local ecology.

This program will feature images captured by Ron Dickenson, a local wildlife photographer who has been chronicling our area's "Mooseheart eagles" since 2008.
