The DuPage Community Foundation Announces 2015 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards Grant Guidelines and Applications Available

Three Spirit of Volunteerism grants will be awarded to recognize organizations which have implemented successful volunteer programs and have leveraged volunteers to enhance organizational outcomes. The amount of the grants will be $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000. Most not-for-profit organizations serving DuPage County residents are eligible to apply. For grant guidelines or to determine eligibility, visit www.dcfdn.org and click "Grant Guidelines" under the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards section to the right.

Established in 2011, the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards were created as a means to say "thank you" to the volunteer and staff leaders of DuPage County not-for-profit organizations for their tireless efforts to help raise the quality of life for our community's residents during these challenging economic times. Specifically, the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards seek to recognize organizations that have successfully leveraged volunteers to enhance their organizational outcomes.

"Not-for-profit organizations rely heavily on volunteers and have become quite creative in the ways in which they engage them to deliver their programs and services," said Barb

Szczepaniak, Foundation director of programs. "The Spirit of Volunteerism awards provide an opportunity to recognize and reward the contributions of volunteers for the critical impact they have on individual organizations and the community as a whole."

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on February 15, 2015. Recipients will be selected by a review committee which is comprised in part of donors who have financially supported the award. Questions about the application process may be directed to Szczepaniak at barbs@dcfdn.org.
