EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University's Theater Department is mourning the death of a new professor who joined the faculty after a Broadway career. He was 43.

Greg Reuter was a native of Livonia. He graduated from Western Michigan University and went on to a 20-year career in New York, where he appeared in "Chicago," ''Monty Python's Spamalot" and many other shows.

He died on Dec. 18. Theater Department chairman Kirk Domer says the cause hasn't been released by Reuter's family.

A service is being held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington.

Domer tells the Lansing State Journal (http://on.lsj.com/1BdNY7j ) that Reuter put students in touch with professionals to learn more about a career and life on Broadway.
