Believe Project: $100 to help a lonely man smile on Christmas day

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Debbie Rosenbach of Elmhurst.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"Albert is a quiet and gentle man who is going through a difficult time right now. And he has been for the last couple of years. His car broke down. He has been behind on his house payments and continues to be. And he also is going through some medical issues. Both of Albert's parents are gone and his brother who lived in the area has passed away. The only person he has nearby is my mother-in-law, who is going through some medical issues right now. So she isn't even there for him. It looks as though Albert will be alone this Christmas Season. What a great feeling it would be to be able to Pay it Forward to him. To see him smile again, even for a brief moment would be wonderful."

• The Believe Project will award $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else.
