New entrance signs coming next year in Elk Grove Village

Seven new gateway signs will be installed beginning this spring in Elk Grove Village.

The village plans to replace existing wood and brick facade signs at the edges of town with new LED-illuminated gateway signs. Two larger signs are planned for Route 53 at Devon Avenue and at the Arlington Heights Road exit of the Jane Addams Tollway.

Altogether, the signs and related gateway features will cost about $700,000.

"You're first impression is the best impression, and we want to give people that when they come into Elk Grove," said Mayor Craig Johnson.
