Meet for New Year's Day nature walk at Creek Bend

Area seniors are invited to a gathering at a Kane County Forest Preserve on the first Thursday of each month, during the "Senior Stroll" nature program series.

In January, the Senior Stroll program, "New Year's Morning Hike," will be 10 to 11 a.m. It is free, and registration is not required. Join in the festivities, fellowship and more.

On Thursday, Jan. 1, the group will take a wintry hike in the woods at Creek Bend Nature Center. On this special holiday, you're welcome to bring the family - grandkids and all. They will look for the first animal tracks made in the snow and other surprises from Mother Nature. There will be coffee and cocoa inside Creek Bend Nature Center after the hike.

Creek Bend Nature Center is within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.

In the event of severe weather, call (630) 444-3190 for cancellation information. Visit kaneforest.com.
