Woodridge, Buffalo Grove theaters to show 'The Interview'

"The Interview" is back on the Christmas Day release schedule, with showings planned at the Hollywood Blvd. cinemas in Woodridge and the Buffalo Grove Theater in Buffalo Grove.

The controversial comedy was spiked last week by Sony Pictures after the mysterious Internet group called the Guardians of Peace threatened to do something vaguely destructive at theaters playing the movie.

Sony executives, attempting to salvage their movie from both a financial disaster and a growing political mess, announced they would allow theaters to show "The Interview" if they choose to do so.

"The Interview" will premiere at 4:30 p.m. Christmas Day at the Hollywood Blvd. cinemas, 1001 W. 75th St., Woodridge. It will also play Christmas Day at the Buffalo Grove Theater, 120 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
