Join 29th annual World Healing Meditation Dec. 31

The Center for Spiritual Evolution, 204 Spring St. in Cary, is once more hosting the annual World Healing Meditation on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 6 a.m. Doors open at 5:45 a.m. Faithbridge Interfaith Association of McHenry County is co-sponsoring the event this year. There will be a breakfast potluck at 7 a.m.

"Peace begins within each of us," said the Rev. Anne S. Muelleman, founding minister of the McHenry County Church of Religious Science, a Center for Spiritual Evolution. "Every religious tradition teaches peace and some version of what in Christianity we refer to as the Golden Rule." Representatives of various faith traditions including Buddhism, Judaism, Islam and other Christian traditions are expected to share a peace pray or short reading. Rev. Muelleman has led a World Healing Meditation each year since the Center for Spiritual Evolution opened in 1998 and has personally participated in this event since it began on Dec. 31, 1986.

This simultaneous global mind-link began at noon Greenwich time on Dec. 31, 1986, when more than 500 million people representing all religious faiths in more than seven countries and in every state in the U.S. came together in one moment in time to think peace, radiate love, and release spiritual energy for the good of all. This is the year to be part of the inspiration, part of the solution. It was a worldwide nondenominational, nonpolitical grass root cooperative effort to unite people in a common bond of peace, love, understanding and forgiveness and continues each year in churches, centers, temples, private gatherings and public events around the world at noon Greenwich time on Dec. 31.

It is time once again for a massive outpouring of love and light into the collective consciousness. Everyone is welcome to come share a word, a prayer, or a song. Join as millions gather around the world for the 29th annual World Healing Meditation at noon Greenwich time on Dec. 31 in a planetary affirmation of peace, love, and forgiveness.

"Let peace come forth in every mind.

Let love flow forth from every heart.

Let forgiveness reign in every soul.

Let understanding be the common bond."
