Toys for Tots in Mundelein

Mundelein's Tavern on 60, 330 Townline Road, recently organized a special wrap-up event for the 2014 Toys for Tots program.

Representatives from the U.S. Marines were on hand along with Mayor Steve Lentz, village trustees, and members of the Mundelein police and fire departments and the Citizens Emergency Response Team.

"We organized this final push for the Toys for Tots program because we believe in this program and feel it greatly benefits children in need in our community and beyond. We're very grateful to everyone who helped to make the event a great success," said David Pederson, manager of Tavern on 60.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
