Sente town hall in Vernon Hills:

Democratic state Rep. Carol Sente has slated a Back-To-Session town hall meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Vernon Hills Park District's Laschen Center, 294 Evergreen Drive. Sente said the 99th General Assembly is scheduled to resume in a few weeks and she looks forward to hitting the ground running. "This year I plan to continue championing the issues important to our families, like encouraging strategic economic development, building strong schools, reigning in skyrocketing property taxes and eliminating wasteful government spending." The event will begin with a brief legislative update from Sente on her initiatives from the past year, and her goals for the spring session. For the remainder of the event, attendees will get to ask questions and make comments.
