Lively Blvd. reconstruction in Elk Grove Village to begin next spring

A $3.5 million project to reconstruct Lively Boulevard from Devon to Thorndale avenues in Elk Grove Village's business park is expected to begin next spring.

The state is expected to pay 80 percent of the total construction and construction engineering cost, and Elk Grove Village will pay 20 percent. The village will use funds from a $38 million bond issue in 2012, intended for public works projects involving repairs and upgrades to stormwater drainage systems and sanitary sewers.

The village board last week approved a contract with Civiltech Engineering of Itasca for construction engineering of the project.
