Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity winner in car raffle

A St. Charles car dealer has the holiday spirit.

Fox Valley Buick/GMC, 1421 Main St., gave away a new $23,000 car Saturday, Dec. 13, as part of a fundraiser to help Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity provide affordable housing.

St. Charles resident Cynthia Steimle was the raffle winner. Cheryl Williams of Aurora, a future Habitat homeowner, drew Steimle's raffle ticket. Steimle was given the choice of a 2014 VW Jetta or Buick Verano. Both models are valued at $23,000.

In addition to the St. Charles location, Fox Valley Auto Group includes Volkswagen dealerships in West Chicago and Schaumburg, where raffle tickets were also on sale.

About 1,400 raffle tickets were sold in the first such fundraiser for Fox Valley Habitat in its 25-year history.

Founded in 1989 in Aurora, Fox Valley Habitat partners with working families to provide affordable shelter. Some 50 new homes or renovations have been completed in Aurora, North Aurora and Montgomery.
