Paws In Time's beginner class for puppies and their owners starts Jan. 5

Paws in Time, at Harvey Road and Treasure Drive in Oswego, will offer its first group training class starting Monday, Jan. 5, for puppies/beginners and their owners.

The classes will be held every Monday for six consecutive weeks, working on obedience commands like "sit," "stay," "heel" and "come." Only seven spots are offered in these training sessions, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve a spot, you may either go online at pawsintime.net/contact/ or call (630) 554-0303.

This puppy/beginner class will be the first group session offered at the new Oswego Paws in Time location, following the same successful model that has been offered in West Chicago for the past 12 years.

These classes are conducted personally by the owner Julie Nelson, whose lifelong passion has been working with dogs. Julie will work with dog owners to develop visual commands and focuses on positive reinforcement.

The beginner class is followed up by the intermediate class, which starts on Monday, March 2, and ends on April 29. The final group class is the advanced training class which begins on May 11 and ends on June 29.

Advanced class graduates are given the opportunity to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification test.
