Bob Stitt introduced as Griz football coach

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Bob Stitt has been formally introduced as the 36th head football coach at Montana.

The 50-year-old Stitt met with media and fans for the first time Friday in Missoula after he was announces at the next Grizzly coach on Tuesday.

Stitt comes to Montana from the Colorado School of Mines, where he has been head coach for 15 years.

Stitt says he never fathomed becoming head coach at Montana.

The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/1DRZM4q) that Stitt signed a three-year contract that pays him $175,000 per year, plus on-field and classroom incentives.

Stitt has already started filling out his coaching staff. He will retain defensive coordinator Ty Gregorak and is bringing in former Griz player and offensive line coach Chad Germer.
