Three suburban women arrested in New Jersey robbery

Three suburban women wanted in connection with a New Jersey robbery were arrested Thursday by Illinois State Police.

The women - one from Park Ridge and two from Lincolnwood - are accused of stealing $18,000 in cash from a Chinese restaurant in New Jersey three months ago.

Authorities said the women entered the restaurant Sept. 27, distracted its owners and stole the owner's purse, which contained the day's cash deposits from the restaurant. The women then fled the scene in two separate vehicles, police said.

New Jersey State Police were able to identify the women and obtained warrants for their arrest.

Thursday, the Illinois State Police Ruse Burglary Task Force along with agents from the U.S. Marshals Service, Park Ridge police and Lincolnwood police arrested the trio. One was found in Lincolnwood, while two were located in Park Ridge, state police officials said.

The women were identified as Linda Martinov, 56, of Park Ridge; Ljuba Petrov, 42, of Lincolnwood; and Biserka Petrov, 32, of Lincolnwood.

They are all awaiting extradition back to New Jersey, authorities said.
