Rainbow Hospice Welcomes Head of Maryland Hospice as New CEO

(Mount Prospect, IL) - After a nationwide search, Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care has announced today that Michael S. McHale will be taking the position of President and CEO of the organization. McHale, who currently serves as CEO at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Maryland, will be joining Rainbow Hospice in January.

"In selecting Michael McHale we have gained a national leader in hospice and palliative care who will contribute greatly to further building our excellent quality services, access to those in need and Chicagoland market share," said Joe Hugar, a member of the Board of Directors for Rainbow Hospice.

During his tenure as CEO of Hospice of the Chesapeake, McHale was instrumental in achieving double-digit census growth and expanding the organization to include pediatric hospice and palliative care. The organization also significantly increased its profile in the community, expanding partnership opportunities and community programs.

With more than 15 years of management experience within the long-term care and hospice industry, McHale's career has spanned coast-to-coast including leadership positions in California, Michigan and Maryland. Before joining Hospice of the Chesapeake, McHale served as Vice President of Business Development and Sales for a regional hospice provider serving Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C.

McHale holds a Masters of Health Care Administration from National University in San Diego and also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

"Rainbow Hospice has had a history of strong, consistent leadership. As we look to the future of the hospice, Michael McHale's experience will help propel Rainbow in its next stage of growth as one of the premier institutions for hospice and palliative care in Illinois," said John Baird, Chairman of the Board for Rainbow Hospice.
