Build a gingerbread house in East Dundee Dec. 21

The holiday fun continues in downtown East Dundee with carriage rides, Visits with Santa and Gingerbread House Decorating on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. Come see the twinkling white lights and beautifully decorated downtown area while strolling from business to business.

Visitors can start their day with a horse-drawn carriage ride that seats four at The Depot, 316 N. River St., East Dundee from 4 to 8 p.m. Rides cost $10 per adult 12 years or older, with children under 12 permitted to ride at no cost.

Tickets are available for purchase at Sweet Pop Fizz across the street. For more information on ticket sales, call Sweet Pop Fizz at (224) 484-8710.

Drop in after 4 p.m. Saturday to make your very own gingerbread house with a pre-made kit from Piece-A-Cake Bakery, 304 N. River St., East Dundee. Cost of the kits are $15 and can be made on premise or taken home for a fun evening project. For more information regarding the kits, call Diane at (847) 836-6703

Get a smile and snapshot with Santa from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Van's Frozen Custard and Burgers, just down the street at 16 E. Main St. For more information, contact Chad at (847) 836-8267.

"It's really simple. We're making it possible for everyone to create a memory in our little town of Dundee. It's a fun time of the year," said East Dundee Village President Lael Miller.
