Man pleads not guilty to gunning down sister's boyfriend in Round Lake Beach

A Chicago Heights man pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges he gunned down a Round Lake Beach man Nov. 8.

Jeremy Anderson, 36, faces 45 years to life in prison if found guilty on three counts of first-degree murder for killing his sister's boyfriend, Assistant State's Attorney Jim Newman said.

Anderson is held in the Lake County jail on $3 million bail.

Police say Anderson was involved in a "domestic incident" during a family get-together at the home of Anthony Robinson Jr., 31, on the 1400 block of Idlewood Drive.

Police discovered Robinson was shot more than five times after they were called to the home about 9 p.m. on a report of shots fired, Newman said.

Robinson was taken to the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Anderson fled the state, authorities said, but was tracked down in Gary, Indiana, by the U.S. Marshals Service. He was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

Officials said police recovered the gun and the car Anderson used the night of the shooting.

Newman said Anderson's trial is scheduled for Feb. 23. Anderson is due back in court Jan. 13.
