Believe Project: $100 to instill the joy of giving to others in her grandkids

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Ginger Bechtold of Mount Prospect.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I have 12 grandkids, ages 7 to 18. At Christmas when we all get together, I will give each of them $10 in an envelope (I would add $20 of my own money to the $100 from the Daily Herald), and explain that they are to give this away. I will give examples from previous winners. Then when we all get together again in January they will all share what they did with their $10. I hope this will instill in them the joy of giving."

• The Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
