Napster co-founder to invest on allergy research

SAN FRANCISCO - The Silicon Valley entrepreneur says that now that he is the father of two small children who have a genetic basis to develop allergies he wants to help find a lasting cure to allergies.

Parker announced Wednesday he is donating $24 million over the next two years to establish an allergy research center at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

The Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy Research will focus on understanding the dysfunctions of the immune system that result in allergic reactions and on finding a lasting cure.
