10 charged in credit card fraud and ticket scheme

MILWAUKEE - Federal authorities have charged 10 people in a scheme that allegedly used stolen credit card numbers to purchase $1.7 million worth of sports and concert tickets and then resold them at venues across Wisconsin and the U.S.

U.S. Attorney James L. Santelle says some of the venues in Wisconsin include Miller Park, the BMO Harris Bradley Center, Lambeau Field and Camp Randall Stadium.

The 33-count indictment unsealed Tuesday charges 10 people with various credit card fraud and identity theft offenses, including four Milwaukee men and three Chicago men, as well as men from Minnesota, Texas and Kentucky.
