The Grinch makes the children laugh during Gavin Central School drama club performance

The Grinch ran from Who child to Who child to steal their presents during the Gavin Central School drama club's performance of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

The club presented the play for kindergarten through fourth grade students at the Ingleside school on Wednesday, along with the play "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

"The kids worked really hard at memorizing their lines and worked hard at practices before and after school," director Amanda Hain said. "When they came in and saw everyone, they were a little nervous but they did great."

The colorful-costumed children enjoyed taking on the parts of the Whoville crowd and the Charlie Brown gang, evoking laughter from the audience throughout the scenes.

"It was fun because I liked the part where I rode the sleigh and I liked pretending to steal the presents," said Addison Fugelseth, who played the Grinch covered in green makeup.

The plays were also performed Wednesday night for the public at the school.
