'Books Between Bites' welcomes author, poet
Batavia's "Books Between Bites" welcomes author and poet Janice N. Harrington at noon Thursday, Dec. 18, in the large community room at Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.
Harrington returns for her third visit to the program to share her poetry, children's books, and storytelling. She will read from her new children's book, "Busy-Busy Little Chick," and talk about the challenges of turning a traditional story into a picture book.
She'll also share family stories, and give those in attendance a chance to write their own story through poetry.
Harrington, a former librarian and professional storyteller, teaches creative writing as an associate professor of English at the University of Illinois. Her books will be available for purchase and signing. More information about Harrington can be found on her website, janiceharrington.com.
Books Between Bites is offered from noon to 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free program and reservations are not required. Parking is available in the lot just south and adjacent to the library.
People are invited to bring their lunch and eat as they enjoy the program and discussion. Lunch items, beverages and baked goods can be purchased at Chapters Coffee House & Café, located just inside the library and adjacent to the meeting room.
