Join Schaumburg NextGen Group for Fitness Fair, Trivia Night

A Fitness Fair, book discussion and Trivia Night will take place in January for members of the NextGen Group at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

NextGen, a social group for people in their 20s and 30s, is always open to new members. To register for its programs, email nextgen@stdl.org or call the library's Fiction Desk at (847) 923-3140. Upcoming NextGen programs include the following:

A Fitness Fair and Self-Defense Class will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, in the Rasmussen South Room. Nutritionists, health experts and representatives from local fitness centers will be available from 7-8 p.m., followed by a short interactive self-defense class from 8-8:30 p.m. Explore your local gym options and see what several local fitness facilities have to offer. No registration is required.

The Young(ish) Adult Book Club will meet at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 11, at Cup and Vine, 55 W. Schaumburg Road, in Schaumburg's Town Square. This club is for those who enjoy reading young adult books. January's title will be "Say What You Will" by Cammie McGovern. A limited number of loaner copies are available to borrow from the Fiction Desk. Registration is required.

NextGen's Trivia Night is scheduled from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, at America's Bar, 2308 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. Questions about pop culture, weird history and obscure facts will all be included in this interactive program. Participants may enter as teams of two to seven, or come alone and get placed on a team. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. No registration is required.
