Sentencing for man who killed half-brother with autism

MADISON, Wis. - A man convicted of fatally beating his autistic half-brother is to be sentenced in Dane County.

Jeffrey Vogelsberg is due back in court Monday after earlier pleading no contest to second-degree reckless homicide in the 2012 death of 27-year-old Matthew Granville.

Vogelsberg reached a plea deal on the original charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and intimidating a witness while his trial was under way in September.

Prosecutors plan to ask that Vogelsberg be sentenced to 12 years in prison and seven years of extended supervision. The defense will ask for eight years in prison.
