Unique mental health program

The Association for Individual Development is the grateful recipient of a $24,925 grant from the INC Board, NFP to be used toward the "Living Room" program.

The "Living Room" is a mental health crisis respite program, one of the first of its kind in Illinois, originally created with a grant from the Zellmer Wellness Foundation. The program is a comfortable space that offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for those experiencing stressful and anxiety-provoking situations (psychiatric emergencies). The goal of the program is to provide a calm and safe environment in which guests can resolve crises without more intensive intervention.

The INC Board, NFP is a Community Mental Health Funding Alliance and the local mental health authority in the south Kane County area.
